Yet Another Hate Crime Tragedy

We regret to share that we are adding another flash point to the map. A 25-year-old immigrant was recently beaten to death by a group of teenagers in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. One witness told the AP that the teenagers, some of whom apparently make up part of the local high school football team, yelled at one of Ramirez's friends after the beating to tell her Mexican friends to get out of Shenandoah, "or you're going to be laying next to him." And to top it off, more than week after the incident, no charges have been filed. See the full story here:

Update: July 25, 2008
Three teens—all residents of Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and players on the Shenandoah Valley High School football team—have been named as suspects in this case. Two of the teens were charged as adults with homicide and ethnic intimidation. A third teen was charged with aggravated assault and ethnic intimidation.
